HM2 Navy Corpsman Christopher Ingermann embraces his daughter, KrisDi-anne, during a surprise visit April 27 in the Alvarado Junior High School cafeteria. KrisDi-anne, an eighth grader, had not seen her father since August 2006. Ingermann's unit had been patrolling Fallujah, 40 miles west of Baghdad, before briefly spending a week at home. He left today for North Carolina where he will have surgery on his back and shoulder area, following a Nov. 16 accident when an IED (improvised explosive device) took out his patrol vehicle. Ingermann has been rated for a Purple Heart, which he will receive in June at the Fort Worth Joint Reserve Base (formerly known as Carswell Air Force Base). Ingermann and his wife, Theresa, also have two other children, Christopher Ingermann Jr., a junior at Alvarado High School, and 20-year-old daughter Krystal, an AHS graduate.
