State Rep. Jim Pitts, R-Waxahachie, will hold two town hall meetings to provide Ellis County residents with an update on the 80th Legislature as well as other topics of interest.

The first town hall meeting will be from 2:30-3:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 8, at the Waxahachie City Council chambers, 401 S. Rogers St., Waxahachie.

The second will be from 5:15-6:15 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 8, at the Ennis Public Library, 500 W. Ennis Ave., Ennis.

The public is invited to attend the town hall meetings to meet with Pitts.

Pitts was first elected as state representative for Ellis and Hill counties, District 10, in November 1992, with the 80th Legislature his eighth session in office.

During the 80th Legislature, Pitts served as vice chairman of the Government Reform Committee and was a member of the Ways and Means Committee.
