Straight Way Non-Denominational Church invites the community to attend worship service at 11 a.m. every Sunday morning.

The Hour of Power takes place at 10 a.m. on the second Sunday of every month at the Pleasant Manor Nursing Home.

Bible study

The Women’s Ministries of University Assembly of God Church will hold a Bible study at 10 a.m. every Thursday morning and again at 7 p.m. on Thursday evenings at the Church’s Berean Room. The church is located at 221 Solon Road in Waxahachie and all women are encouraged to come and be a part of this study. The topic of study is prayer and the book is called “Becoming a Woman of Prayer” by Cynthia Heald. For more information contact the church office at (972) 937-7810.

‘For Ladies Only’

Bishop T. D. and Serita Jakes, will present “For Ladies Only,” Thursday, Oct. 18-Saturday, Oct. 20, at the Gaylord Texan Resort in Grapevine. The conference is designed to address relevant issues related to today’s woman. Women of all ages from diverse racial and ethnic, geographic and socio-economic backgrounds will meet for three power-packed days in an intimate setting. Scheduled guest speakers include T. D. Jakes, Serita Jakes, Gloria Gaither, Dr. Bridget Hilliard, Joyce Meyer, Susie Owens, Ernestine Reems-Dickerson and psalmists Yolanda Adams, Judy Jacobs and Martha Munizzi.
