First Steps To Your Computer

Are you just getting started on your computer? Donít know a mouse, from a modem? This is your class. Learn the basic parts of a computer, how to turn your computer on and off and very basic functions. This class is not for folks with experience. After the completion of this class you will be ready for the next step. Instructor: Josh Corrigan

Office 2007 Ė Microsoft Word (Intro. to Word Processing)

This class will provide you with the tools needed to successfully create and save documents, edit and make corrections and use automatic text features. You will format pages, paragraphs, move, copy, find and replace text. You will also learn to use proofing tools and preview and print documents, envelopes and labels and learn to work with templates.

Limit: 20 students

Office 2007 Ė Introduction to Excel

This class is for anyone who wants to learn the fundamentals of Microsoft Excel. You will learn how to understand spreadsheets, enter data and save workbooks, modify worksheets and workbooks. You will also be provided with the tools to create and edit charts and graphs, work with formulas and use templates, styles and auto formats. Limit: 20 students

In this second level class of Excel, you will work with advanced functions, multiple worksheets, database basics, protecting data, charts, importing data and automating tasks using macros. Limit: 20 students

Befriend Facebook.?

This course will teach you the ins and outs of everything a beginner needs to know about Facebook. You will learn how to create and edit your profile, choose and change your privacy settings, find friends, old classmates and family members to befriend, accept friendship requests, upload your digital photos into Facebook photo albums, tag your friends and family in your photos, use Facebook applications, join fan pages to receive news from groups organizations and businesses that you like and much more. This course will also go over new emerging trends in social media such as Twitter and blogging.

Conversational Spanish I

†Do you work with people with whom you cannot communicate and would like to learn the basics? This course is for adults who have no previous conversational knowledge of Spanish or who have not had Spanish-language training in many years.

Maintenance Welding

Take the mystery out of welding. Are there things around the house you need to mend? Are you interested in building a fence, carport, barbecue grill or maybe even develop a potential job skill?

This experienced Waxahachie High School teacher will cover general purposes and introduce the fundamentals of ARC welding. You will also be introduced to mig, tig and oxy-acetylene welding. Students must provide their own gloves and protective eyewear. This class will be taught in the Agri-Science Building of Waxahachie Ninth Grade Academy

Cost: $115 plus $20 shop supply fee, payable to instructor

Advanced Welding

Hereís your chance, using welding techniques, to build a project start to finish. This experienced Waxahachie High School teacher will cover stick, mig, tig, 02, ace cutting techniques. Students will be responsible for purchasing their own supplies, supply list provided first class. Student must provide their own gloves and protective eyewear. This class will be taught in the Agri-Science Building of Waxahachie Ninth Grade Academy.

Two Step Dance

Join Lou Ann Ramey, professional dance instructor, as you gain confidence on the dance floor. You will have fun as you learn such steps as 3 step, 2 step and progressive. Comfortable clothes and sneakers are permitted.

Tai Chi

If you are looking for another way to reduce stress, consider Tai Chi. Tai Chi consists of gentle movements that have evolved into a graceful form of exercise thatís now used for stress reduction and also helps with a variety of other health conditions.

It increases a sense of alertness, energy, balance and flexibility

Itís appropriate for all age and fitness levels. Wear comfortable clothes to move in and athletic shoes.
