Red Oak White and Blue cancelled; fireworks show will go on

From STAFF REPORTS

Although the “Red Oak White and Blue” event has been canceled, Citizens National Bank of Texas will present the fireworks show from an undisclosed location at 9:30 p.m. Saturday, June 30.

“The city of Red Oak regrets canceling the event, but is happy that CNB has decided to go on with the fireworks show,” a spokesman said. “We hope this will be part of an annual patriotic event for the city of Red Oak.”Organizers encourage the Red Oak community to enjoy the fireworks show from their backyard or from the parking lots of local businesses. To see the fireworks, look toward the corridor between State Highway 342, I-35, Red Oak Road and Ovilla Road.

Organizers ask that those planning to view the show be courteous of businesses if they choose to park in a parking lot and not to park on private property. Viewers are asked not to drive toward the fireworks staging area, as there is no access or viewing area.

Drivers are asked to pull into parking lots and not to park along streets to view the show.

A rain out date for the show is set for 9:30 p.m. Sunday, July 1.
