The Union Pacific Railroad in cooperation with Texas Department of Transportation will replace the railroad crossing on U.S. Highway 77 near Monroe Street on Sunday, Oct. 2.

The work is expected to begin at 7 a.m. and will require closing U.S. Highway 77 for about 12 hours.

Traffic will be detoured utilizing Water Street and Monroe Street.

Railroad forces will provide a temporary tie-in to reopen U.S. Highway 77 and TxDOT will place permanent pavement once the crossing is sufficiently seated.
