The Ellis County Extension Service will offer its next private applicator training on Tuesday, Aug. 21, at its offices in the Ellis County Sub Courthouse in Waxahachie.

The private applicator license allows the license holder to buy and utilize restricted use and state limited use pesticides in his or her agricultural operations.

The schedule for the training includes:

8:15 a.m. - arrive and register; cost of training manuals is $40

8:30 a.m. - begin training

noon - training complete

12:30 p.m. - exam administered by U.S. Department of Agriculture personnel

All activities should be complete by 3 p.m. The USDA requires a photo ID from anyone taking the exam.

RSVP to the Extension office if planning to attend. Participants are encouraged to purchase and pick up training manuals before the class. Office hours are from 8 a.m.-noon and 1-5 p.m. Monday-Friday 8:00-12:00p.m. The office is closed at lunch.
