Oncor plans two power outages lasting about five minutes in the Ferris area today and Thursday as part of an upgrade to a major substation serving the city.
The construction work is necessary to improve service and reliability to area residents and to serve future growth.
Oncor anticipates the power outages will begin at 5 a.m. on both days and affect 1,700 homes and businesses in the Ferris area.
“Oncor regrets the inconvenience to area residents, but the outages are necessary to complete the upgrades in a safe manner,” said Paul Hernandez, area manager. “By performing the construction work now, Oncor ensures improved power quality and customer service in the future.”
Oncor is an electric distribution and transmission business that provides power to more than 3 million homes and businesses and operates more than 115,000 miles of transmission and distribution lines in Texas.
