One person was transported to Baylor Medical Center at Waxahachie as the result of a multiple vehicle accident on Interstate 35E late Saturday afternoon.
The accident occurred in the 2400 block of the highway about a quarter-mile north of the U.S. Highway 287 Bypass interchange.
According to a police report, a 1990s model Chevrolet Blazer struck a 2007 Mazda four-door from behind in the southbound lanes, causing the Mazda to cross the median into the northbound lanes, where it was struck by a northbound 2003 Toyota Corolla.
The Blazer also crossed the median into the northbound lanes, where it was grazed by a tractor-trailer that veered to the right while attempting to miss the accident. The tractor-trailer crossed the median and northbound service road before striking a road sign and coming to rest off of the roadway, according to the report.
No injuries were reported by the Blazerís driver and passenger, the tractor-trailer driver and the passenger in the Mazda. The driver of the Mazda reported possible injuries but was not transported, according to the report. The driver of the Corolla reported possible injuries and was transported to the emergency room. All were wearing seatbelts.
