MILFORD — The Milford Fire Department has placed a new E-One pumper/tanker into service.
With a $108,000 grant from the Texas Forestry Service and the help of the city and fund-raisers the department was able to purchase the $168,000 truck.
The Milford Fire Department serves about 700 people within the city limits and about 500 citizens outside of the city limits with a total of 54 square miles in the fire district.
“The pumper/tanker will allow us to serve our community and provide mutual aid with other departments at a higher level of service,” Fire Chief Mark Jackson said.
The department has 17 volunteers who are certified in fire/EMS.
