SNYDER, Texas (AP) - A West Texas woman and her daughter have sued a city and police after allegedly being barred from doing CPR on a relative, who later died.
Darlene Bollinger of Snyder says her husband, Benny Bollinger, was suffering an apparent heart attack at their home on Dec. 6, 2009. She called 911 while the couple's daughter, Debra, began CPR.
The lawsuit says Snyder police arrived, restrained the daughter and stopped her CPR efforts, then kept both women from further helping the ill man.
The lawsuit says paramedics later arrived and restarted CPR. Benny Bollinger died later at a hospital.
City Manager Merle Taylor on Thursday told the Abilene Reporter-News that the lawsuit, filed Nov. 28 in Lubbock, is being reviewed.
