The Waxahachie Police Department is investigating an accident involving a car and two motorcycles that occurred in the 1100 block of Brown St. at 4:30 p.m. Friday.

According to police Lt. Joe Wiser, a 63-year-old Waxahachie man driving a white 2005 Chevy Impala was northbound on Ferris and stopped at the stop sign before attempting a left turn to go north on Brown and striking the motorcyclists, who were southbound on Brown.

“It appeared … he failed to see the motorcycles, failed to yield the right-of-way and struck both motorcycles,” Wiser said. One of the motorcycle drivers, a 52-year-old Waxahachie man, was injured and transferred by CareFlite to Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas. The other motorcyclist involved, a 38-year-old Waxahachie man, was not injured.

The initial report did not indicate any signs of excessive speed or alcohol.
