Beginning the evening of Friday, June 22, the city of Waxahachie will begin its inaugural “Summer Moonlight Movie” program, kicking off the season with “Grease,” starring Olivia Newton-John and John Travolta.

Part of the city’s Main Street Program, the movie will be projected onto the side of the Plaid Donkey, located on the southeast corner of the square at the intersection of College and Franklin streets.

The community is invited to bring blankets and lawn chairs to the free event, which will start at 9 p.m.

Next month, on July 27, the movie will be “Over the Hedge.” The August movie, airing Aug. 24, will be “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off,” starring Matthew Broderick, Jennifer Grey, Alan Ruck and Jeffrey Jones.
