The Johnson County Republican Party announces two scholarships, in the amounts of $1,000 and $500, to be awarded to Johnson County high school students graduating during the upcoming school year.

Residency in Johnson County is required for consideration and public, private and home-schooled students are all eligible to apply. The scholarships may be used for academic or vocational education.

Applications are available at www.jcrp.org and must be postmarked by Dec. 1.

The scholarships will be awarded in February.

“What I like about this scholarship is that it is there for Johnson County kids,” Sharon Bates said. “Furthermore, it is open to a wide variety of schools and may be used for a wide variety of educations.”

Complete details and the application are available on the Web site and applications will also be made available to area schools.
