The Midlothian Education Foundation (MEF) announces the appointment of a new executive director, Kristin Zastoupil.

“We’re ready to move the Foundation to the next level and are excited to have Kristin on board,” President Jamie Wickliffe said. “We believe she will be a great asset to the Foundation.”

Betty Tryon, a board member of the MEF noted that Zastoupil comes with a wealth of experience from various sectors within the educational system.

“She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Mass Communication/Journalism with an emphasis in Public Relations from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor, graduating cum laude in less than three years,” Tryon said. “She then earned her master’s degree in journalism from Baylor University in Waco, Texas.”

Using her experience in graphic design, event planning, public relations campaigns, crisis communications and media training, Zastoupil’s direction is clear.

“I purpose to utilize my public relations experience, strong work ethic, exceptional communication skills, decision-making skills and networking capabilities to make a positive difference in the community,” Zastoupil said.

During her years of professional work, she noted that her employment as an educator helped her to understand the challenges they face. In addition, her experience as former Executive Director of Corsicana’s education foundation will certainly be beneficial as she takes the reins of the education foundation in Midlothian.

“With Kristin Zastoupil’s professional skills, the foundation looks forward to a new school year as we continue to help teachers introduce new and innovative programs to their students,” Tryon said.
