Lions International, District 2-X1 of Texas, held its annual Leadership Training Conference in Ennis on June 23, at Baylor Baptist Church Convention Hall, hosted by the Ennis Noon Lions Club.
“Over 100 attendees from north central Texas area Lions Clubs within District 2-X1 were on board, as newly elected officers and committee chair persons of 39 individual clubs received leadership training for their upcoming terms of office,” said District Governor Elect 2-X1, Wallace Roberts.
Roberts is also a member of the Ennis Noon Lions Club.
The membership training team and instructors included other District 2-X1 officials: Past Council Chair John Eads, Past District Governor Frank Pickens II, Past District Governor Julie Johnson, Cabinet Secretary Tommie Worthy, and Cabinet Treasurer John Landrum.
“I want to thank each of the 105 Lions who attended their training sessions at this conference. Everyone received plenty of quality information from our great instructors,” said Roberts.
Each attendee was challenged by Roberts to sponsor at least one new Lion member in the coming year.
Roberts is scheduled to be inducted as Lion International’s District Governor of District 2-X1 of Texas in a ceremony to be held July 6, 2007, at the International Convention, to be held in Chicago.
