As Life School celebrates its 10th year as a charter school, the school also celebrates the opening of the new school in Lancaster.

The new campus at 954 S. Beckley, just off Interstate 35E at the Parkerville exit, is approximately six miles from Life School Red Oak and eight miles from the districtís original school, Life School Oak Cliff.

The new school will enroll approximately 500 students in kindergarten through fifth grade.

Many current students have transferred to the facility, along with students from surrounding cities.

The school will primarily serve students from the Waxahachie, Midlothian, Cedar Hill, Ennis, Red Oak, DeSoto and Lancaster areas.

Former Life School Red Oak assistant principal DeWayne Parker will serve as principal of the school, which will also employ veteran Life School teachers.

Diana Lewis, former principal of Smith Elementary in Duncanville, will also have an office at the new school.

Applications for enrollment are currently being accepted in the Life School Red Oak foyer.
