A 71-year-old Waxahachie woman was taken via air ambulance to Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas on Tuesday morning after an accident at the 6200 block of S. Interstate 35E.

According to police reports, Shirley Davis’ 2001 Ford Expedition left the roadway about 120 feet in front of a guard rail and traveling down a creek embankment before becoming airborne. The vehicle landed on the southern side of the creek, rolling multiple times before coming to a stop. Davis, who was wearing a seatbelt, was the vehicle’s only occupant.
