MIDLOTHIAN – An incident in the 400 block of Brandi Ridge Drive on Thursday afternoon ended with a man transported to the hospital with a gunshot wound.

The incident began at about 12:33 p.m. when the Midlothian Police Department received a 911 call from a resident.

“The caller reported that he heard two loud crashes and advised dispatch that the subject had backed a vehicle into his own house and was yelling at the caller,” Midlothian police public information officer Karyn McCoy said in a press release issued about the incident.

Midlothian police officers responded and attempted to make contact with the male subject by knocking on the door,” McCoy said, saying that the male subject refused to exit and made threats against officers.

“The incident culminated and resulted in a shooting,” she said, noting the subject was transported by air ambulance to an undisclosed hospital at about 4 p.m.

As of press time, no other information or names had been released. The Texas Rangers will handle the investigation of the incident.
