OVILLA – Five suspects are in custody relating to a home invasion that occurred at about 7:15 p.m. Tuesday in the 700 block of Ovilla Oaks.

The victims had advertised items for sale on Craig’s List, with individuals arriving at their residence to see/buy them, Ovilla Police Chief Mike Moon said.

“The suspects subsequently brandished a weapon, took electronic items from the residence and left,” Moon said. “Due to GPS technology that was installed on the electronic devices, officers were able to track the suspects’ movements.”

Moon said officers with the Dallas Police Department located the suspect vehicle, taking five people and the stolen property into custody. The suspects were subsequently transported to the Ovilla Police Department.

Additional information was not immediately available for release pending the ongoing investigation, Moon said.
