FERRIS - The Ferris City Council met Monday, approving the ratification of a 4B Economic Development Council project for the purchase of property.
The property will be used as the location for a new park with passive and active recreational uses including a softball/baseball complex.
The 4B council has committed $50,000 in the initial year and in annual payments for the next three years.
The city council also ratified 4B Economic Development Council funding of $12,000 to install a new 60-foot flagpole at the Fallen Officer Memorial.
Permission was given to the police and public works departments to sell five surplus vehicles.
The council also accepted the resignation of City Manager Gus Pappas.
