ENNIS - Officials at Ennis Regional Medical Center have announced a public open house for the new facility to be held from 4-7 p.m. Saturday, July 14.
There will be guided tours of the new $35 million hospital during the open house. Refreshments will be available, including hot dogs for children and fried fish and hush puppies prepared by Mike Riley.
Country music singer Janie Fricke will be on hand, and supervised children’s activities such as facing painting and a petting zoo will be offered.
“We are very excited to have this time for the community to see this tremendous new facility,” hospital CEO Dan McLean said. “The leaders and residents of the Ennis area are so supportive of the hospital and we felt it was important to let them get the first chance to see our new home.”
The open house will offer those attending an opportunity to tour parts of the hospital, such as the surgery department, that will be off-limits to the public once the facility is opened.
“The entire Ennis Regional Medical Center staff is committed to providing the highest level of care and compassion to our patients and their families,” McLean said. “While it is evident that we are constructing a top-notch facility, I want the community to know that we are equally committed to building a team of employees committed to the highest level of care as well. I am confident that our hospital will be recognized both for the level of clinical excellence and for our new standard of care.”
Hospital managers and employees will lead guests on tours of the facility.
“We are very proud of this facility and are anxious to share it with everyone,” McLean said. “One of the most exciting things about this new hospital is the wide range of services and state-of-the-art technology that will be available right here in Ennis.”
Ennis Regional Medical Center is a 102,000-square-foot acute-care facility that will include 60 all-private rooms.
Ennis Regional Medical Center is located on 25 acres on West Lampasas Street near the U.S. Highway 287 Bypass. The hospital will officially open July 23.
