Waxahachie ISD district officials are conducting an emergency operations drill today at Waxahachie High School.

This effort will be conducted to test the strength of the district’s Emergency Operations Plan and help the district determine areas in which improvement is needed in the event of an unfortunate emergency situation.

The district is working with the Waxahachie Police Department, Waxahachie Fire Department, Baylor Medical Center at Waxahachie and emergency medical technicians to ensure that the drill runs smoothly.

“The drill will also assist our local emergency services by providing them with a valuable training exercise,” a spokesman said.

WISD officials have notified parents and have worked with local media to inform the Waxahachie community of the event so as not to cause concern the day of the drill.

For more information on the drill, contact Jason Chapman, Waxahachie ISD director of safety and security, at 972-923-4600.
