The Waxahachie Police Department was involved in a high-speed chase with speeds in excess of 100 mph Saturday morning. The pursuit ended with a male subject being taken into custody and transported to Wayne McCollum Detention Center.
“At approximately 8:30 a.m. Saturday morning Ovilla patrol officers Mario Ortegon and Scot Knight observed a known suspect driving in Ovilla. The officers turned around to pursue in order to serve a warrant for aggravated assault on a police officer that stemmed from an incident that took place Friday in Midlothian. The suspect fled at high speeds and made entrance into traffic on I-35 with the officers in pursuit,” said Ovilla Police Chief Michael Moon.
