Ennis ISD Police Chief Kevin Haynes is out on bond and facing several charges relating to his arrest Saturday night by Ovilla police.
Haynes was booked into Wayne McCollum Detention Center and charged with the offenses of driving while intoxicated, resisting arrest and assault on a public servant. He was released Sunday, with bonds set at $1,000, $1,50 and $2,500, respectively.
Further information was not immediately available.
In April, Haynes was honored by Jack Lummus Memorial VFW Post 7106 as outstanding police officer for Ennis ISD.
