FERRIS — Boy Scout Troop 206 of Ferris recently assisted Jeremy Ellebracht as he completed his Eagle Scout project at the Ferris Public Library, 514 S. Mabel, by building and extending the flower beds in front of the building.

Scouts must complete a community service project before earning the rank of Eagle — Scouting’s highest honor.

Troop leader Paul Martinez supervised the project, with Ellebracht coordinating the plans and directing fellow troop members.

The project was supported by donations from Living Earth Technology Company, Lowe’s, Roland’s, the Greenery and Home Depot. Joining Ellebracht were Eagle Scouts Brian Ellebracht, Kyle Jernigan and Xan Turner and Boy Scouts Hamilton Turner, Patrick Garcia, Shawn Strond and Clarence Cross.

Brian Ellebracht, Xan Turner and Kyle Jernigan are the first Eagle Scouts in Ferris in 22 years.
