A 55-year-old Waco woman lost her life in a single-vehicle accident Friday afternoon near the 392-mile marker on Interstate 35E.
The woman, whose name was not available by press time pending notification of relatives, was driving a 2002 Buick Rendezvous in the northbound lanes south of the Forreston rest stop when the accident occurred.
“Traffic was slowing down (with construction ahead) and she went to the right,” Justice of the Peace Jackie Miller Jr. said. “Her vehicle tire came off of the shoulder and it looks like it caught. Her vehicle went end over end two times.”
The vehicle landed on its roof, he said, noting that the woman was wearing a seatbelt, however the airbags did not deploy.
The woman suffered multiple blunt force trauma, said Miller, who pronounced her dead at the scene at 3:55 p.m., ordering the body taken to the Dallas County medical examiner’s office.
Texas Department of Public Safety trooper Tom Prudom is handling the investigation.
