Alvarado’s historic downtown square will be the scene of the Santa Land Art Festival at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 1.

“We are expecting 20-25 vendors this year,” said Clint Davis, Chamber of Commerce representative. “In years past, we’ve only had the lighting of the lights, but this is the first year to have a festival.”

Davis said there would be a variety of attractions such as arts and crafts, jewelry, hand-painted Christmas ornaments, food booths, and a petting zoo of baby exotic animals.

“We will have bounce houses, a clown and the high school and junior high choirs will perform before the lighting of the lights and Santa’s arrival,” Davis said.

The Santa Land Art Festival is the result of a joint effort between the city of Alvarado and the Alvarado Chamber of Commerce.
