The Waxahachie City Council will hold a special meeting at 2 p.m. today in the council chambers at City Hall, 401 S. Rogers St. in downtown Waxahachie.

The only item on the agenda is to consider approving the readoption of amendment 1 to the city of Waxahachie and Rockett Special Utility District joint venture agreement for the new water treatment facility being constructed north of the city.

Ground was broken on the Robert W. Sokoll Water Treatment Plant earlier this fall and is scheduled to go on line in 2009. The facility will provide treated water to both city and Rockett SUD customers.
