Helping Hands of Ennis is in need of food and staple items for their outreach program. Donations of protein sources such as tuna, peanut butter, canned meats, powdered milk and any other items would be appreciated.

Aug. 18 - The annual Chamber of Commerce auction will be held at the Knights of Columbus Hall. Doors open at 5 p.m. with a chicken fried steak dinner and open bar from 5:30 - 7 p.m. A cash bar follows from 7 - 11 p.m. A live auction will be held at 7:30 p.m. with a silent auction being held from 5 - 9 p.m. The theme for the auction is “Planes, Trains and Automobiles”. Aug 22 - The First United Methodist Church of Ennis is serving a free meal to the community from 6 - 6:30 p.m. The church is located at 300 N. Sherman and everyone is invited to attend.
Aug 23 - The First United Methodist Church will host a “call to prayer” at 7 p.m. at the church, 300 N. Sherman Street. The service will focus on the school personnel and children.
Aug. 25 - The Bardwell area and Central High volunteer fire departments invite you to the third annual fund-raiser to be held at the KC Hall. Activities begin at 5:30 p.m. with a BBQ supper, followed by a live and silent auction, raffle drawings and live music provided by Ira Bradford and Bustin’ Loose.
