Onlookers agreed that Waxahachie High School band students and some band parents were not only enjoying themselves, but were as wet as the scores of cars they washed Saturday on the high school front parking lot during their annual band fund-raiser.

“The funds we are raising from this car wash will go toward expenses for the marching band show, master classes for students on instruments and to pay for adjunct faculty instruction,” said band director Rich Armstrong, who is beginning his sixth year with the band.

Asked to describe his experience with the band, senior tuba player Eric McMahan said, “It’s a band-tastic experience!”

“This is no doubt the best start up of any year since I’ve been in the band and I’m just excited to be a part of it,” McMahan said.
