The Alvarado Chamber of Commerce welcomed new members Dominos Pizza, Dr. Nick and Carol Gagich, Alvarado Chiropractic Health & Wellness, Dr. Scott Morris, Alvarado Chiropractic Wellness Center and Jerri Hammons during its regular meeting Monday, Dec. 3.
Officers for 2008 are Jacob Wheat, president; Clint Davis, president at large/membership coordinator; Jameye Jones, treasurer, Kathleen Gould, secretary; and Michelle Conner, activities coordinator.
Open house was announced for the Alvarado Public Library beginning at noon Dec. 19 and from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Dec. 20 at First Financial Bank. The opening of Classie Lassie Resale Shop was announced with hours of operation from 9 a.m.-5 p.m., Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.
Ribbon cutting ceremony for the A-1 Express Lube on Parkway Drive was announced for noon Saturday, Dec. 15.
A joint food drive between the Alvarado Fire Department and Helping Hands for Jesus is taking donations of food at both Davids and Brookshire’s Super Market. The public is asked not to donate food in glass containers and perishable items such as frozen foods. Donations of flour, sugar and other items in bags are to be in small bags.
