Residents of Ellis County are invited to attend the 80th annual Waxahachie Chamber of Commerce Awards Banquet.
Scheduled for 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 28, at the Waxahachie Civic Center the banquet will be a time to honor companies and individuals who have assisted the organization throughout 2007.
The chamber will recognize outgoing board chair Teresa McNiel and present awards for Ambassador of the Year, Business of the Year, Chairman’s Special Award, Marvin E. Singleton Jr. Environmental Beautification Award, Industry of the Year, Leadership Waxahachie Award, Mabel Frame Award and Small Business of the Year.
Along with other presentations, the evening will be concluded with recognition of Waxahachie’s Outstanding Citizen of the Year.
This year’s banquet keynote speaker will be Vicki Kelsey whose presentation will challenge the audience’s perception of “status quo.”
Kelsey is currently the manager of Organizational Change for Cargo Reengineering at American Airlines.
She is responsible for creating an environment of innovation and “out–of-the-box” thinking at American Airlines.
Tickets to the banquet, which include a gourmet dinner catered by The Dove’s Nest, are $35 per person.
