Choirs in concert, silent auction

The Midlothian High School choirs will present a silent auction and holiday concert Thursday, Dec. 13. The silent auction will begin at 6 p.m. outside the auditorium and the concert will begin at 7:30.

“Many items have already been donated to make this a worthwhile auction,” a spokesman said.

Pinning ceremony

Advantage Academy of Waxahachie and the Kiwanis Club of Waxahachie will present the Advantage Academy Key Club of Waxahachie to the community from 7-8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 13, at First Assembly Fellowship hall, Waxahachie.

Kiwanis officials, including Division 2 Lt. Gov. Barbara Powers will be present and member of the community including city officials, teachers, parents, club sponsors chamber officials and members and local clubs and social service agencies are encouraged to attend. Key Club officers will be inducted and members will be pinned.

Christmas in Maypearl

Maypearl businesses will be open and giving away free items from 6-8 p.m. Dec. 14. Residents are encouraged to bring a toy for the Angel Tree. Carriage rides and pictures with Santa will be available at the feed store.

Friday Book Club

Friday Book Club will meet Dec. 14 in the home of Susan Kosoris. Colleen Boudreaux will be the guest reviewer. Refreshments will be served at 10 a.m. and the review will begin at 10:30.

Parents night out

Ferris Avenue Baptist Church will host a parents night out from 6-11 p.m. Friday, Dec. 14, at 1401 Ferris Ave.

“This event is for parents to have a date night, do some shopping and have some fun while we watch your kids,” a spokesman said.

‘My Favorite Christmas’

The Ennis Public Theatre presents the comedy drama, “My Favorite Christmas,” by Bill Rhoten in performance at 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, through Dec. 15. A Sunday matinee will be held at 2:30 Dec. 16, with a Monday show at 8 p.m. Dec. 17.

The storyline relates how the Osborn family gets a visit from Santa, but who’s really in that suit? Young Ben’s doubts about Santa are dispelled, while little sister Angela learns the real meaning of giving. Both experience a Christmas they will never forget.

The theatre is located at 2705C N. Kaufman St., Ennis.

Tickets are $14 for adults, $12 for students and seniors and $6 for student rush.

Photos with Santa Claus

Again this year, the Waxahachie Mother’s Club will offer photographs for all ages with Santa Claus.

Santa will be available at the Kids Store at JCPenney from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 15, and from 1-6 p.m. Sunday, Dec.16.

The money raised through this project benefits children in the Waxahachie area.

After Hours Improv Comedy Show

After Hours Improv Comedy Show will perform at 8 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 15, at the Texas Theater, 110 W. Main St., Waxahachie. Tickets are $10 for adults and $6 for children age 10 and younger.
