How to write a winning business plan

A session on Creating a Business Plan will be held at 10 a.m. to noon Jan. 28, in the Citizen’s National Bank community room at 310 N. 9th Street in Midlothian.

This workshop provides a basic working knowledge of the reasons for a Business Plan.  Attendees will learn the important components of a business plan, as well as how to reduce the intimidation factor in writing the perfect plan for a business.

The cost of this workshop is $20 and is for anyone wishing to start a business or already in business. It is sponsored by the Navarro College SBDC which is a partnership program with the U.S. Small Business Administration. Make checks payable to the Navarro SBDC.

Starting a small business

From 10 a.m. - noon on Feb. 10 the Navarro College SBDC will sponsor a workshop on Small Business Startup Basics. It will be held in Prosperity Bank at 500 North Interstate 35 in Red Oak.

This workshop will introduce the attendee to the “nuts and bolts” of starting a small business. Attendees will explore the feasibility of the business idea and learn the basics of registering a business, choosing a legal form of business ownership, filing proper permits and licenses, and evaluating financial options.

This workshop is free of charge and is presented by Robin Lasher, director of the Navarro College SBDC, which is a partnership program with the U.S. Small Business Administration.
