Countdowns of “one, two, three” were heard throughout Waxahachie this weekend as children lined up to take their photos with Santa Claus.

Santa’s schedule was pretty full Saturday morning as he made back-to-back appearances at Dunaway Elementary and Ferris Avenue Baptist Church.

Santa’s first visit was at Dunaway for its annual Breakfast with Santa event.

The parents of Dunaway’s students were on hand to serve pancakes and sausages, while others organized photos with Santa.

All proceeds will go toward Dunaway’s angel tree and to benefit needy families in the Waxahachie area. Canned food donations were accepted, as well.

Also open to the public were the school’s store and book fair.

Santa’s second visit was at Ferris Avenue Baptist Church, which was also hosting a Breakfast for Santa event.

Students in the church’s youth ministry provided families with pancakes, as well as an opportunity to have photos taken with Santa.

All proceeds will go toward financing a trip to Campeche, Mexico, for the youth ministry to help build new churches.

Both events anticipated and received a big turnout as the public showed its support for both causes.

Santa at JCPenney store today

An opportunity to take photos with Santa continues today at JCPenney, where the Waxahachie Mothers Club will be on hand from 1-6 p.m. for its annual fund-raiser to benefit various children-related projects.
