Ladies of the local “Quilts Across America” quilting group have for their seventh year completed a quilt as part of a fundraiser to benefit Texas veterans.

All proceeds will be given to returning veterans at the Brook Army Medical Center in San Antonio, as well as Lackland/Woffard Hall in San Antonio, the rehabilitation center.

To date nearly 600 quilts (whether single bed size or lap throws, phone cards or personal items bags) have been taken to San Antonio.

The 2007 Raffle Quilt is flower that is loved by all — Texans especially — and is titled, The Bluebonnet. This flower is depicted with squares of crayon colored flowers and interspersed with check-board squares that highlight the flowers. The quilt took fourth place at the 2007 Texas State Fair.
