Plans are under way for the first “Blue and White Ball” benefiting St. John Catholic School. The event will be held from 6:30 p.m.-midnight Saturday, Feb. 2, at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Ennis.

The evening of entertainment includes a dinner, followed by a dance featuring Czech and Then Some.

“This event is sure to bring together the school and parish along with the many friends and supporters that the school has established,” school principal Chris Rebuck said. “It is through efforts such as the Blue and White Ball that our school will reach its highest potential.

“I want to personally encourage the Ennis community to join us for this evening of fun and fellowship and to come visit our school to see the exciting ways that we are bringing learning to life,” he said.

An added feature of the festivities is a raffle drawing for a 1967 Ford Mustang GT, with the raffle culminating from weeks of prior sales.

The Blue and White Ball is sponsored by the St. John School Development Committee, which has worked to stimulate the financial stability of St. John School during recent times of economic hardship. “We continue to offer the people of our community and school the support for the quality education our children receive through a facility which has become synonymous as a local landmark and proud heritage,” said Laddy Rejcek, school board president.

Admission is $15, which includes dinner and the dance. The raffle tickets for the 1967 Ford Mustang GT are $50 per ticket. Advance tickets are on sale at the elementary school office and Blazek Building Supply.
