AUSTIN, Texas Ė Gov. Rick Perry has appointed eight members to the Trinity River Authority board of directors for terms to expire March 15, 2017.

The authority oversees development and conservation of surface water resources of the Trinity River Basin.

The appointees include Harold L. Barnard of Waxahachie, who is president of Ellis County Abstract and Title Company. He is a member of the Texas Land Title Association and Texas Association of Title Agents. He is also a past member and past president of the Ellis County Museum, Waxahachie Foundation and Waxahachie Chamber of Commerce. Barnard received a bachelorís degree from the University of Texas at Arlington. He is being reappointed.

From Johnson County, Perry also is reappointing Martha Hernandez of Burleson, a retired nutritionist. She is a past member of the Burleson Library Board, past president of the Burleson Garden Club and Burleson Heritage Foundation, and past chair of the city of Burleson Park Board. Hernandez received a bachelorís degree from Texas Wesleyan University.

All of the appointments are subject to Senate confirmation.
