Avalon ISD round up and screening for pre-kindergarten and kindergarten children (ages 3, 4 and 5) for the 2007-2008 school year has been set for May 11.
Children must be in one of these age groups by Sept. 1, 2007, to be eligible for school next year.
Each child’s hearing and vision will be checked and he or she will be screened for speech and vocabulary at the round up.
Parents need to bring immunization records, birth certificates and Social Security cards to the round up.
“In order for the school to plan properly for next year, it is important that all eligible children attend the round up,” a spokesman said. “We will also be filling out paperwork necessary for your child to enter school next year.
“If your child has attended round up prior to this year, it is still important that you notify the school if your child will be attending Avalon School next year,” the spokesman said.
If an appointment was not set, walk-ins will be accepted only if time permits.
Round-up hours are from 8:30 a.m.-3 p.m.
