Refiner’s Fire Ministries is hosting its annual Family Fun Fest on July 29 from 10:45 a.m. until mid-afternoon.

The event which is provided free of charge to the community will feature bounce houses, face painting, games, rides and many activities for families to enjoy as well as snow cones, cookies, hot dogs and drinks.

For the second year, the church will also hand out free school supplies to the first 200 kids that come to the festival.

“We are really excited to be holding this event again this year. It is our biggest outreach of the summer and one last chance for the kids to have a play day before school starts again,” said Donnielle Tyner, a volunteer with the church.

Church members start planning and making preparations for the festival early in the year and are pleased that the event has grown from year to year.

“Last year we had between 300-500 people come and go throughout the day and we hope to exceed that number this year,” Tyner said.

Church members will be on hand to man the activities and rides and are grateful for the opportunity to meet the public.

“We are excited to meet members of the community that currently might not worship with us. It is always nice to meet new people and have them experience the church’s hospitality first hand,” Tyner said.
