So far, so perfect for the Waxahachie Lady Indians volleyball team in District 7-6A after a road sweep of Mansfield Summit on Tuesday.

The Lady Indians won each of the first two sets 25-17 and then closed out the Lady Jaguars 25-10 to improve to 2-0 in district action and 29-4 on the season. Waxahachie swept the opening match of district play last Friday at home against Grand Prairie.

Audrey Nalls led the Lady Indians with 14 kills. She was followed closely by Essence Clerkley and her 11 kills. Courtney Crownover and Lacy Mott both recorded five kills, each.

Ragan Ward continued her strong play from the setter position with 23 assists and chipped in two aces.

The Lady Indians were led at the service line by Baylee Whitehead with 11 points and a match-high four aces. Alli Wells added 11 service points and was successful on 13-of-her-16 serve receptions.

The Lady Indians, who moved up one spot to No. 24 in the USA Today Super 25 national volleyball poll, return to action at 5:30 p.m. Friday against University of Kentucky-commit Azhani Tealer and South Grand Prairie.
