A cake is often more than a dessert. The sweet treat can often bring people together to share a special moment or to recognize an accomplishment. Nothing Bundt Cakes hopes its new Waxahachie location can help serve in that role for residents when it opens in January.
David and Breda Boese are bringing the franchise to the city at a location inside the Waxahachie Marketplace shopping center on North U.S. Highway 77 at this time but has not been finalized.
The path to launching their franchise began three years ago after someone brought a cake to a family gathering.
“We had a number of family members with birthdays and anniversaries that were all around the same time. Relatives brought some of the Nothing Bundt Cake cakes, so we started looking into a franchise for us to open,” David said. “Everything is history from there, and we got approved to the Cedar Hill territory.”
David stated they have gotten a great response from the customers in Cedar Hill who love the cakes and their uniqueness. He looks forward to sharing the same experience with residents in Waxahachie.
The cakes come in either eight- or 10-inch sizes and in a variety of flavors. Some of these flavors include vanilla, pecan praline, white chocolate raspberry, lemon, and red velvet. The frosting is made with cream cheese and real butter and applied in either thick petals or is drizzled on top of the cake. A layered bundt cake can also be created as well.
“We normally have nine flavors and then a featured flavor as well. The cakes are fantastic,” Brenda said. “We have our signature buttercream frosting on top of them. They are very good, and if you haven’t had them, you are missing out.”
For something a little different, the store offers miniature, personal bundt cakes known as "bundtlets." These cakes can be used to create a bundtlet tower that is made up of two or three cakes and can be sent as a gift.
If a bundtlet is a little too big, customers also have the opportunity to purchase a dozen bundtinis to share with family, friends, or coworkers. Bundtinis are about the size of a cupcake.
“Honestly, the cakes just speak for themselves. Just ask around a bit,” Brenda said.
Brenda added the couple is excited to join the Waxahachie business community and helping where they can.
People who wish get a taste of what Nothing Bundt Cakes before the Waxahachie launch can visit the Boese’s first store, located at 352 N. U.S. Highway 67 in Cedar Hill.
