WAXAHACHIE

Edible Arrangements has rebranded itself, and the Waxahachie location is celebrating the new name and exclusive products with a grand re-opening.

On the local level, Luisa Gutierrez, general manager of the Waxahachie store, also wants to get to know the community and let them taste the new products.

For instance, the fruit popsicles is a brand new product being tested. Currently, it is only available at two locations — Waxahachie and Cedar Hill. The day of the grand re-opening, these popsicles will be free of charge. The first 50 guests to attend the event will also receive one free smoothie per month for a year.

“They are made out of fruit — fresh,” Gutierrez emphasized. “They don’t have any preservatives, and we can dip them in gourmet chocolate. That will be the main part of the event, trying our popsicles and telling us what they think.”

During the event, 20 percent of sales will be donated to Waxahachie CARE. Edible, as the store is now called, will also collect crackers, canned meats, and soup for the food pantry at Waxahachie CARE.

Kid and family fun activities will be coordinated later in the afternoon. Folks can connect with Edible on Facebook at @ediblearrangementsWaxahachieTX for updates.

The company rebranded itself to offer more than just the well-known fruitful arrangements, as the business is now selling treats.

The Waxahachie store also sells smoothies and non-fat frozen yogurt that can be mixed with fresh fruit. Individual pieces of fruit that can be dipped in gourmet chocolate can also be purchased. When Gutierrez visited the Daily Light, she had chocolate covered apples and pineapples shaped like ladybugs and the state of Texas — all covered in chocolate and decorated.

The year-round flavors of smoothies are strawberry, pineapple, honeydew, cantaloupe, blueberry, and grape. Until Labor Day, Edible will offer watermelon, kiwi and mango flavors.

“To me — not because I work there but because I make them every day — they are the best because we don’t use preservatives,” Gutierrez boasted. “The fruit is fresh and cut in the store and not even frozen. We don’t use artificial sweeteners, and you have the choice to add sweetener or not so it’s really healthy — and we offer kale.”

For toppings, Edible offers sprinkles, whip cream, almonds, coconuts and hazelnuts. They also sell fudge.

A grand re-opening is essential to Gutierrez because “I’m actually not from Waxahachie — I live all the way in Ft. Worth and I am in love with the community.”

Edible products are appropriate for a variety of occasions, explained Gutierrez, such as to cheer someone up, a birthday, or to show appreciation to clients.

“We want the community to know we are here to help in any way,” she added.

The grand re-opening is from 11 a.m.—6 p.m. July 27 at the store, located at 508 US Highway 77, suite 200.
