Steve Walter Holland was born on December 27, 1943 in Cameron, Texas to Rowland and Ruby (Rogers) Holland, Sr. He married the love of his life, Bobbie Jean (Bateman) Holland on January 16, 1965. He served in the United States Army from December 1965 to December 1967 and served in the US Army Reserve until 1971. Steve retired from General Portland Cement Plant (Lafarge) after 23 years and also retired from the City of Waxahachie in the meter department after 15 years.

Steve was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Rowland Holland, Jr. He is survived by his wife, Bobbie, and two daughters, Suzann Spaniel (Karl) and Tammie Armistead (Chris). His legacy continues through the lives of his grandchildren, Callie Eldridge, Blake Finkenbiner, and Raynie Spaniel and great-grandchildren Carlie Snow and A.J. Eldridge. Steve also is survived by his sister, Sandra Barnum, and a host of nieces and nephews.

Steve’s family wishes to thank the nurses and staff at Baylor Scott & White Hospital in Waxahachie for their genuine care of him. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Diabetes Association.

Services will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 3, 2018 at Midlothian Funeral Home with graveside services at 11:00 a.m. at DFW National Cemetery, Dallas, Tx.
