The Waxahachie Indian baseball coaching staff and former players hosted two summer skills camps last week at The Optimist Fields.

The first was open to all position players entering 2nd—9th grades, while the second focused on pitchers and catchers.

Head baseball coach Tracy Wood said the annual camp was a success and provided a unique opportunity for the future of Indian baseball. He also thanked the former players who assisted with the camp.

"This camp gives those youngsters a chance to get a taste of what Waxahachie Indian baseball is all about," Wood added. "It's always good to get them out here and give them a little direction. We are also blessed to be able to host the camps at The Optimist and thank the Johnsons and Chim Curry for letting us use the fields."
