Frances Lavaughn Wells departed this life June 15, 2018, in Waxahachie. She was born in Sans Chapel, Texas to Henry Mack and Laura Arbell Fudge, and she had seven brothers and two sisters. Frances married Travis Wells March 15, 1952, and they were together for 46 years until his death in 1998. She is best known as Mrs. Frances at Hilltop Grocery, where she worked for 18 years, and then several years at Bernie’s Hamburger Stand.

Frances is survived by her sister Ruby Sink of Waxahachie, brother Robert (Bob) Fudge and wife Mary of Ennis, sister-in-law Bettye Fudge of Crandall, sons Bobby Wells and wife Teresa and William (Willy) Wells, and daughter Robin Barrett and husband Ben, all of Waxahachie. Also, surviving are grandchildren Misty Wells, John Wells, Shelly Smith, Raven Barrett, Bryce Barrett and Matthew Barrett, great-grandchildren Brittany, Lisa, Hayden, Liam Zaerli and Samantha, numerous nieces and nephews, friends and customers she considered friends. Frances was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Travis (Bones) Wells, sister Mary Lee Haraway and husband Luke, brothers Aubrey (Bill) Clark, Earnest (Red) Clark and wife Evelyn, Eugene (Gene) Fudge and wife Gertrude, Edward Fudge and wife Emmagene, T.J. Fudge and wife JoAnn and James (Doak) Fudge, brother-in-law Burdon (Curly) Sink and daughter-in-law Linda Wells.

Visitation for family and friends will be Monday, June 18, 2018, from 6:00-8:00 PM at Boze Mitchell McKibbin Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, June 19, 2018, at 2:00 PM in the chapel at Boze Mitchell McKibbin. Burial will follow at Waxahachie City Cemetery.
