It was not an emergency landing, but instead a friendly visit from area law enforcement at Oliver E. Clift Elementary School on May 18.
The Dallas Police Department, Texas State Troopers and the Department of Public Safety checked in to speak with students in the after-school program Clift Academy.
This group meets once a month to embark on an adventure or gain a new experience.
The law enforcement officials gave tours of the DPS helicopter and allowed the kids to try on headphones and tinker with gadgets. Then, the students got to check out the inside of a Texas state trooper police vehicle. More than 15 students were able to try on gear and take a seat behind the wheel.
