To the Editor,
There is no question that Dr. Stephanie will do a superb job as a Waxahachie School Board Trustee. She was raised in a modest environment in Waxahachie and learned to work for her accomplishments with no feelings of entitlement. Jan has known her family for over 50 years and has always had high regard for her family and their personal values.
Dr. Stephanie managed to support herself while completing her bachelor’s degree from Texas A&M University then following with dental school to become a Doctor of Dental Surgery. After completing her DDS, she worked in public health dental clinics 4 days a week and at her newly opened office in Waxahachie 2 days a week to build her dental practice. Except for a few referrals she was able to build and maintain a solid patient base on her own so she could focus on her full time dental practice.
Understanding how to balance her family life, professional career and her church involvement is readily apparent with Dr. Stephanie’s daily routine and she is prepared to begin her tenure as a Trustee for WISD with no agenda. She strongly feels that the board should work together as a team to accomplish goals with the guidance clearly defined in the WISD guidelines for board responsibilities. She is positive that a balanced board will continue to enhance WISD to continue success for students, faculty, staff and our community in the future.
It only takes a few moments of being with Dr. Stephanie to realize that she is an intelligent and intuitive leader who understands the needs of others and can confidently recognize the value of common goals without being disingenuous.
Please join Jan and me by casting your vote for Dr. Stephanie Jennings Singleton for WISD Board of Trustees.
