WAXAHACHIE

Residents will soon have another option for health and wellness needs.

MedExpress anticipates opening a new location in Waxahachie this summer, located at 1305 N. U.S. Highway 77 next door to Home Depot. The center plans to be open from 8 a.m. – 8 p.m. weekly. No appointments are required, and most patients will be in and out and under an hour, said MedExpress Spokesperson Annie Jamieson.

Jamieson also stated the goal is to provide high-quality, convenient, and affordable healthcare that puts the patient first.

“MedExpress is committed to providing quality care. When our patients walk in it is fundamental to us that we treat them like they are the only patient and they are apart of the family," Jamieson said. “We offer a full medical team. That includes a provider, nurses, radiological technologists, and medical assistants.”

The new medical clinic will provide its patients with a variety of services that range from treating illnesses like the flu and respiratory issues to injuries like broken bones, burns, sprains, and strains. It also provides wellness and work-related services such as camp, school, and sports-related physicals, employment physicals and screenings and X-rays. The staff can also refer patients to specialists, primary care physicians, and hospitals if they need it.

The new facility in Waxahachie is approximately 4,700 square feet. This space includes patient rooms, a procedure room, and an x-ray suite. While the clinic offers a wide variety of services, it is not a standalone emergency room.

The cost of a visit to a MedExpress clinic varies by patient varies on the services that they receive and the specifics of their insurance plan. MedExpress accepts most major insurances and offers affordable pricing for those without insurance.

Patients will need to bring a driver’s license or photo identification, insurance information, payment for co-pay or self-pay, list of medications, allergies, past surgeries, and a parental authorization form for minors without a parent present upon each visit. This form is available on the MedExpress website.

“MedExpress is committed to increasing access to high quality, convenient and affordable healthcare. We try to do this by joining communities that we think can benefit from our services,” Jamieson explained. “We locate our centers were our patients live and work, so it is easy as possible for these folks to get high-quality care when they need it. We are excited about joining the community and look forward to serving residents as their neighborhood healthcare partner.”
